This looks like a nasty but survivable crash. The cammer states the driver didn’t survive but offers nothing to verify it. The only thing he says was that the driver wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, which I could certainly see turning this fatal.
Update: As you can see below, Berang found a news article stating the driver of the Subaru survived. I replied to the comment thread that was questioning the alleged fatality of the incident. The original uploader of the video graciously and politely replied to me to confirm that there was a mix-up and the driver did indeed survive:
I don’t use the comments section of Youtube that frequently so I’m sure this is just another day in the park, but I found it funny as hell. Also, some guy out there isn’t dead, so that’s nice.

Probably wouldn’t have been much with a seatbelt. Also wouldn’t have happened at all if the driver wasn’t a colossal tool.

I imagine that he was probably bracing his body partly against the door as he accelerated, which puts him in an awkward position to start with. Can’t tell how much tumbling he did after that, but when the car came down, it looks like the driver’s side of the cabin crushed in more than the passenger side.

looks like massive understeer, at 3sec mark in video he was under hard acceleration weight transfer was in the rear and the front tires were light and he was already into the corner

That was a pretty weird accident. But landing a car on its roof like that can easily be fatal. Hitting your head against the roof like that without seatbelts will likely break your neck. The seatbelts might not help if they aren’t tight enough and/or you are too tall.
I rolled my car once in a rear ending accident but my seatbelts stayed tight and I managed not hit my head at anything.

I found this picture through google, but when I click on the link it takes me to a different story about a jeep rollover that apparently happened in the same area. Definitely looks like it could have been fatal.
Edit: further searching reveals the driver didn’t die.

he must have been on sand or something. I was waiting to take a left and as i started to go the guy coming at me sped up so I lef tout the clutch and went full throttle. I dont even think the tires spun a bit and that was in the rain. I think the most amazing part of that car was its relentless ability to grip, i just dont understand how he could pull that off.
